Prinzessinnengarten is an experimental urban community garden in Berlin’s Kreuzberg neighborhood that combines agricultural, ecological, and social initiatives within a collectively managed commons. During the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, the co-authors of this text, as members of the nonprofit association Common Grounds, began documenting internal conflicts surrounding economic activity, money, and governance within the garden. Developed from discussions held during this period, the text reflects on the crisis unfolding both within the group and beyond, while considering the future role of the garden as a space for solidarity, care, and community support. The document functions as an ongoing reflection on the institutional and social practices emerging from the experience.
